| The two books under review constitute the last work of the Croatian comparatist, Italianist and translator Frano Cale, who died in August 19931. Both of them were printed for the same, special occasion: the 59th P.E.N. World Congress that took place in Dubrovnik on August 19-25, 1993, sixty years after its Eleventh Congress had taken place there in May 1933.
